Frank and I left around 6 am and drove to Brockton, Massachusetts where we will spend four nights. The drive was an easy one. We had dinner at Frank's restaurant. It was OK but not good enough for us to go back.
We drove to the Quincy Adams station and took the Redline into Boston. As we got off the train, I got a call from Jason saying that Todd Taylor had suddenly died in the night. I was really sad about this. I had worked some with Todd over the past few months.
We walked much of the Freedom Trail, looking at historical sites. In the afternoon we took a harbor cruise that was very informative. Next, we walked up along the Charles River on our way towards Fenway Park. We had great seats for the ballgame. The Red Sox beat the Rangers. The weather was great today and we had a great time We got back to our hotel at midnight.
We drove to Cape Ann to the town of Rockport where we looked around, took some pictures, then headed to Gloucester. There we boarded a boat and went out on the Atlantic Ocean for 4 hours Whale Watching. We saw several humpback Whales. It was another nice day.
We left the Boston area and headed for the southern coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The first place we stopped and looked around was Padanaram section of Dartmouth. We ate lunch at the Sail Loft where I got my first ever lobster roll. We drove back roads to Newport, RI where we walked a section of the cliff walk. We would have walked the entire 3.5 miles if it weren't raining. We ended the day by driving to Mystic. After checking in, we drove for 20 minutes to the Foxwood Resort Casinos. It was huge. We ate at the buffet. After we ate, Frank played for a little bit while I watched the Penguins and the Cavaliers on side-by-side TVs.
We drove back home from Mystic, CT, getting back around 4 pm.
